Artistic Process
Thursday, May 27th, 2010As an artist, one of the things that has always surprised me is how many people are genuinely interested in the nuts and bolts of how I work. From daily scheduling to moments of grand inspiration, people ask me about anything and everything related to the production of art, but most of the time I feel my answers are pretty unsatisfactory.
I think my difficulty in explaining my general artistic process is because I'm still in the process of discovering it myself. It's something that's constantly evolving, shifting, changing, sometimes failing, and generally more easily refined over time than defined.
In the coming weeks I'll be using this blog to share a little more of my everyday experience of being an artist. I'm hopeful that the small glimpses I offer from behind the scenes will build a larger window into my process, illuminating it in a way I never could by trying to address it directly.
Since I need to test my photo function, I thought a good way to start would be with a literal glimpse behind the scenes, a "still life" photo from the studio.
